We take on your internal audit function, or work next to your own auditors, following the IPPF standards of the Institute of Internal Auditors. You get a yearly audit plan, a hard look at your controls and reports your management can act on.
We run the whole internal audit function for you, or we share the work with your own team.
We design the yearly audit plan around your biggest risks, and we carry it out.
We test your internal controls and processes and tell you where they hold and where they do not.
We write documented reports with clear recommendations for management.
We follow up until the agreed corrective actions are in place.
Outsourcing or co-sourcing
Many companies do not have an internal auditor of their own. In that case we act as the internal audit function: we plan the audits, carry them out and report to the board or the audit committee.
Larger companies usually have a head of internal audit and need extra hands, or specific expertise, for part of the plan. Then we work under your head of internal audit, on the areas you choose. This is co-sourcing.
Listed companies and Law 4706/2020
Under Law 4706/2020 the head of internal audit of a listed company must be an employee of the company. So for listed companies we do not replace that role. We support it: we carry out audits within the approved plan and bring the expertise the in-house unit does not have.
Who we work with
Companies in regulated finance, such as banks, investment firms, payment and e-money institutions and fund managers, and any company whose board wants an independent view of how the business is controlled. For public bodies we have a separate page on internal audit in the public sector.
Who leads the work
Our internal audit work is led by Dimitris Papaioannou, CIA, Head of Internal Audit Services.
We are also building AI tools for our own auditors. They prepare working papers and a first draft of the report, and one click opens the evidence behind each finding. The auditor reviews and approves every line.
Frequently asked questions
What is internal audit?
An independent and objective check of how an organisation works: whether its controls, processes and risk management do what management believes they do. It reports to the board or the audit committee and finds problems before they cost money.
Is internal audit mandatory?
For companies listed on the stock exchange, yes, under Law 4706/2020. For most public bodies, yes, under Law 4795/2021, depending on their size and type. Many regulated financial firms have internal audit rules set by their supervisor. For other companies it is the board's choice, usually made as the business grows.
Can you be our internal auditor if we have no team?
Yes. With outsourcing we act as your internal audit function and report to your board or audit committee. The only exception is the head of internal audit of a listed company, who must be an employee.
How much does it cost?
It depends on the size of the company and the number of areas in the audit plan. After a first free call we send you a written proposal.
Planning next year's internal audit?
